JJ Cataldo Earns Atlantic Hockey America Goaltender of the Week

BOSTON - Army West Point hockey freshman goaltender JJ Cataldo has been named Atlantic Hockey America Goaltender of the Week, announced today by the league.
It marks the first Goaltender of the Week recognition for Cataldo, who had previously earned a pair of AHA Rookie of the Week honors in November before being named the league's Rookie of the Month as well. He was also named to the Mike Richter Award Watch List for the top collegiate goaltender in the country earlier this month.
Cataldo helped Army extend its winning streak to six games as it earned its third straight conference sweep on the road at Robert Morris. He made 61 saves in total in the series for a save-percentage of .953 as the Black Knights tabbed wins of 6-2 and 2-0. The 29-save shutout in game two marked the second career shutout for the standout plebe.
Cataldo currently ranks 11th in the country and second in Atlantic Hockey with a .929 save-percentage this season. In 19 starts and 20 appearances, he has logged a 10-9-0 record and 2.14 goals against average.
The Black Knights will head north of the border next to take on the Royal Military College of Canada with the Challenge Cup on the line at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
