BOSTON - Army West Point hockey sophomore defenseman Mac Gadowsky has been named Atlantic Hockey America Defenseman of the Week, announced today by the league.

He logged five points and seven blocked shots in total across the series, as the Black Knights earned a 3-2 victory in game one before a 4-3 overtime win in game two.
Friday night saw Gadowsky score a power-play goal to open the scoring in the first period before logging an assist on the power-play on Jack Ivey's goal which proved the difference in the game.
On Saturday, Gadowsky registered an assist before scoring a pivotal third period goal on the power-play which tied the game at three and eventually forced the overtime period. In the extra frame, it was Gadowsky's primary assist which set up the game winning goal from Ivey to earn the sweep for the Black Knights.
His ten goals this season now leads all defensemen in the country while his 24 total points is tied for the nation's lead among all blue liners.
He is currently riding a six-game point streak which has featured six goals and eight assists while the last four games have each been multi-point efforts that have also featured a goal.
Gadowsky and the Black Knights will look to keep the momentum going this weekend at Robert Morris, as Army will have a pair of conference matchups with the Colonials on Friday and Saturday.
