WEST POINT, N.Y. – Plebe goalkeeper Blair Camargo made seven saves, including a penalty kick in the 63.' However, one connected shot on target was the difference Monday night at Malek Soccer Stadium, as the Sacred Heart Pioneers took down Army West Point Men's Soccer, 1-0 on Monday night.

In the Black Knights' home opener, the home side held firm, taking a 0-0 draw into halftime, in spite of allowing 10 total shots.

But Carmargo's clean sheet was spoiled in the 69,' when Sacred Heart's Ivan Morcillo placed the ball into the back of the net.

Gage Lyons, Colin McCarthy and Reef McGee each recorded shots for Army, which was held to its season-low in shots taken.

Four Black Knights played wire-to-wire, including Camargo, Jack Meyer, Lyons and Owen Mejia.

Mejia made his first start of the season Monday night. Patriot League Rookie of the Week Kasem Minzey made his first career start, as did junior forward Jack Drabenstott.

Next Up

Army hosts Marist Thursday at Malek Stadium. Kickoff is set for 6:00 p.m.
