Rifle Announces 2024-25 Schedule

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Army rifle head coach Leighton Dempster has announced the 2024-25 match schedule.
Dempster enters her third season as head coach, leading the Black Knights who compete in the GARC (Great America Rifle Conference) after being named the conference's 2023-24 Coach of the Year. Dempster joined former coach Ron Wigger as just the second Army coach to receive this respected award, and she looks to improve upon last year's success.
Army begins the season at home on October 5 against Norwich and John Jay. The schedule includes an even seven home matches and seven away matches, culminating in the GARC Championships on March 1-2 in Morgantown, West Virginia. The Black Knights will compete against GARC opponents in five of these matches.
The team will travel to Fairbanks, Alaska where they will face off with Alaska Fairbanks, Ole Miss and Akron on Jan. 18-19. This will be the team's first trip to Fairbanks since 2007 when they took second place in the NCAA Championships.
The Black Knights will travel to face service academy rival Air Force on Nov. 3, and their annual Gold Star match against Navy will be held on Feb. 1 in Annapolis, Maryland. The Presidents Trophy, a match between all three service academies is set for Nov. 2, the day before the stand-alone Air Force match.
