Hockey Announces 2024-25 Schedule

WEST POINT, NY – Army West Point hockey and head coach Brian Riley have announced the full schedule ahead of the 2024-25 campaign.
FULL ARMY SCHEDULE | FULL ATLANITC HOCKEY AMERICA SCHEDULE
The slate features 34 games in total, including 24 Atlantic Hockey America contests and 15 home games at Tate Rink.
Army will take on service academy rival Air Force on four occasions, hosting the Falcons on January 17-18 before making the return trip to Colorado Springs on February 14-15.
The Black Knights will also head north for another rivalry matchup with the Royal Military College of Canada, with the Challenge Trophy on the line once again on Saturday, February 1.
The season begin for a third straight time with a non-conference matchup with Union College, with the Black Knights making the trip to Schenectady on October 6th to kick off the campaign. Before getting into conference play, Army will then travel to the University of Maine for an exhibition contest of Saturday, October 12th.
Army's first game in the newly rebranded Atlantic Hockey America will come in Worcester, Mass., with a two-game set against Holy Cross slated for October 19-20. Army's home opener will follow, playing host to Bentley for a pair of games at Tate Rink on October 25-26.
The conference slate will continue the three following weekends, with trips to Canisius (Nov. 1-2) and RIT (Nov. 15-16) coming with a home series versus Niagara (Nov. 8-9) in between. Holy Cross will then come to Tate Rink for a single game on Friday, Nov. 22, capping 11 straight AHA contests as Army will then play seven if its next eight out of conference.
The week of Thanksgiving sees Army on the road for its first-ever battle with Stonehill on Tuesday, Nov. 26 before taking on national powerhouse UMass on Friday, Nov. 29. The Black Knights will then do battle at Sacred Heart for a single game on Tuesday, Dec. 3 before finishing off the first half of the campaign with a matchup against Penn State on December 12th.
Returning for the second half of the season, Army will host three straight non-conference affairs at West Point, beginning with Princeton on Saturday, Dec. 28. Vermont will then take the ice at Tate Rink on Sunday, Dec. 29 before a matchup with Merrimack on Friday, Jan. 3 which then wraps up the non-conference schedule with the exception of RMC.
The Black Knights will play a single contest at AIC on January 7th before playing host to Mercyhurst for a two-game set from January 10-11. Following the series with the Lakers, Army will host its service academy rival for the fourth straight season at Tate Rink. Air Force will play a pair of contests at West Point, set for January 17th and 18th.
January closes with a road series at Robert Morris on January 24-25, before the Black Knights will head north of the border to take on RMC on the first of February. It will mark Army's first trip to Ontario for the rivalry since January 2020. Following a pair of off days, Army returns to the States for a road matchup at Bentley on February 4th.
The final home series of the campaign sees Sacred Heart come to West Point on February 7-8, as the Black Knights will then head west to Colorado Spring for a series at Air Force. With games set for February 14th and 15th at USAFA, it marks back-to-back seasons with four regular season contests between the two service academies.
The regular season will conclude the following weekend with a home and home series against AIC, with Army playing in Springfield on Friday the 21st before a tilt at Tate Rink on Saturday the 22nd.
Moving to postseason play in March, the Atlantic Hockey America Tournament will begin with single-game first round matchups on Saturday, March 1st with best-of-three quarterfinal series' set for March 7-9. The semifinals will also be a best-of-three from March 14-16 with the Championship game taking place on Saturday, March 22nd. The higher seed will host all postseason contests.
