Ronnebaum Named Patriot League Pitcher of the Week

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Army West Point Baseball's Matthew Ronnebaum was named Patriot League Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday, after the Black Knights concluded their regular season and secured the conference regular season championship May 4-5.

Ronnebaum pitched a complete game, seven-inning shutout in Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader against Lehigh to secure the team's regular season title, matching a career-high nine strikeouts and taking a no-hitter into the final frame.

It was Ronnebaum's second complete game this year, and the second complete-game shutout of any length from an Army pitcher.

Army finished the regular season with a 27-20 record and a Patriot League-leading 16-8 mark in conference play. The top-seeded Black Knights open the postseason Saturday against Bucknell in a best-of-three series.
