Jaden Blank Competes at USA Gymnastics Winter Cup

LOUSIVILLE, KY. - Army West Point gymnastics plebe Jaden Blank competed at the USA Gymnastics Winter Cup this past weekend, with a standout performance placing him 21st overall among the top collegiate gymnasts in the country.

Blank is the first Army gymnast to qualify for the competition since Matthew Davis in 2022 and was the lone ECAC gymnast to qualify this season.
In Friday's prelims, Blank had a remarkable effort in the floor routine, posting a score of 13.600 which placed him eighth overall in the event. He was also strong on vault, registering a mark of 13.550 in the event. The plebe was also in the top-25 on still rings with a 12.600 score, and contributed a 12.300 to his all-around mark on parallel bars. Blank sat in 27th overall following the prelims with a total score of 72.100.
Sunday's finals brought an even stronger performance out of Blank, improving on his pommel horse score by 3.200 to an 11.800. His still rings mark also improved to a 12.750, while high bar also saw a strong showing culminating in a score of 12.850. He continued to post strong numbers on vault, this time with a 13.000 while logging a 12.400 in the floor routine.
Blank's total score on Sunday tallied up to a 73.450 overall mark, improving from the prelims and placing him 21st overall in the competition.
The Sarasota, Florida native has had an exceptional start to his collegiate career, highlighted by a CGA Rookie of the Week nod following the West Point Open and an ECAC Rookie of the Week honor following Army's win over Springfield.
He currently boasts the top marks of the season for the Black Knights in both the floor routine (13.700 at Nebraska) and still rings (12.950 at Nebraska). He has contributed on vault all season as well, with a season-best mark of 14.050 against Springfield while his all-around score of 77.500 at the West Point Open is also the tops from an Army gymnast this campaign.
Army and Blank will return for senior day from the Gross Center on Saturday, March 9th for a tri-meet with Springfield and William & Mary beginning at 1:00 p.m.
