Mac Gadowsky Named to Tim Taylor Award Watch List

WEST POINT, NY - Army West Point hockey plebe defenseman Mac Gadowsky has been named to the Tim Taylor Award Watch List, announced today by the Hockey Commissioners Association.
The award is given annually as the National Rookie of the Year and awarded at the Frozen Four, which takes place this year in St. Paul from April 11-13.
Despite missing Army's first seven games of the season, Gadowsky ranks fifth nationally among freshmen blue liners with 15 assists this season, and ranks fourth among all Atlantic Hockey rookies with 18 points. His 15 assists leads all rookie defensemen in the conference. Gadowsky was named Atlantic Hockey Defensive Player of the Month for December, after logging eight points in three games whcih featured a four-point period as Army took down Mercyhurst and New Hampshire.
This marks consecutive seasons that Army has seen a plebe named to the prestigious watch list, with last season's AHA Rookie of the Year Max Itagaki.Â
Gadowsky is one of three Atlantic Hockey players on this list, joining Canisius' Matteo Giampa and AIC's Nils Wallstrom.
