Daily Named Campbell Trophy Finalist

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Army West Point quarterback Bryson Daily has been named an Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award finalist.
The winner will be announced at the award banquet in Tyler, Texas on January 22, 2025. All finalists will be invited to the event and the emcee is Brian Jones, college football studio analyst for CBS Sports and CBS Sports Network.
The five finalist are:

Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State, Junior – Jacksonville, FL (Frisco Lone Star HS, TX) Mountain West
Kevin Jennings, QB, SMU, Sophomore – Oak Cliff, TX (South Oak Cliff HS, TX) ACC
Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado, Senior – Dallas, TX (Trinity Christian School, TX) Big 12
Cam Ward, QB, Miami, Senior – West Columbia, TX (Columbia HS, TX) ACC

Daily was originally one of 16 semifinalists for the award.
Daily has had a record-setting season in 2024, breaking numerous of long-standing Army program records. The Abernathy, Texas native has set the single-season record for touchdowns responsible for in a season, rushing touchdowns in a season, and rushing touchdowns in a single game as well as the record for most rushing touchdowns in AAC single-season history. His 29 rushing touchdowns and 1,532 rushing yards and counting were good enough to finish No. 6th in the Heisman Trophy voting, the highest by an Army player since when Pete Dawkins won the award in 1958. Daily's 29 rushing touchdowns are tied for the most in the country with Boise State's Ashton Jeanty.
This season he was named the Week 7 Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award winner for his performance vs. UAB, rushing 12 times for 136 yards and scoring four touchdowns.
The award is given to the top offensive player in NCAA Division I football who also exhibits the enduring characteristics that define Earl Campbell: integrity, performance, teamwork, sportsmanship, drive, community and tenacity; specifically, tenacity to persist and determination to overcome adversity and injury in pursuit of reaching goals.
Additionally, the award is limited to players who were born in the state of Texas, attended a Texas high school, or attended a Texas junior college or university.
Daily, a native of Abernathy, Texas was a multi-sport athlete for Abernathy High School, where he played under his father, Darrell Daily. He led Abernathy to a 12-2 record in 2019 during his senior year, totaling 2,175 rushing yards and 39 touchdowns. Through the air, he passed for 1,355 yards and 18 touchdowns.
