Army Suffers Pair of Defeats Saturday

Lexington, Ky. – The Army West Point rifle team suffered a pair of defeats Saturday at the University of Kentucky Rifle Range at Barker Hall. The No. 13 Black Knights, recording a team score of 4677, fell to the host Wildcats (4740) in a conference match, along with non-conference rival No. 6 Murray State (4717).

Senior Briggs Moore was Army's top shooter throughout the match. He posted a 583 in smallbore, besting freshman Brenna Green for 11^th place (582), along with a 591 mark in air rifle where he also took 11^th after edging junior Chris Jennings on center shots with 44. Moore broke into the top 10, claiming that spot, in the aggregate scoring with an 1174.

Sophomore Ashton Arlington rounded out Army's top competitors in smallbore with a 582, settling for 13^th place after being edged by Green (33) on center shots for 12^th. Plebe Nicholas Bull posted a 575, one shy of his season high.

Freshman Addison Antwiler and Bull posted respective scores of 588 and 586 in air rifle to rank among Army's top four in that discipline.
The Black Knights close out their fall slate Sunday firing against No. 10 Memphis in a Great America Rifle match at the UK Range.
