Daily Named a Walter Camp Player of Year Semifinalist
November 13, 2024 | Football
New Haven, CT – Army West Point senior quarterback Bryson Daily has been named a semifinalist for the Walter Camp Football Foundation Player of the Year award, the fourth-oldest college football award in the nation.
The semifinalist lists includes eight quarterbacks, seven defensive players, two running backs, two wide receiver/tight ends and one two-way player.
Last weekend at North Texas, Daily eclipsed the 1,000-yard rushing mark on the season, Army's first 1,000-yard rusher since Kelvin Hopkins Jr in 2018. Daily is only the fourth 1,000-yard rusher in the Jeff Monken era. He also became one of four Army QBs with more than 2,000 career rushing yards in their careers (Steelman, Bradshaw, Crawford and Daily).
Daily's 21 rushing touchdowns are second most in the nation, only trailing Jeanty (23).
Former LSU (and current Washington Commander) quarterback Jayden Daniels was the 2023 Walter Camp Player of Year.
The Walter Camp Player of the Year will be voted on by the 134 Football Bowl Subdivision head coaches and sports information directors later this month. Three finalists will be announced on Tuesday, Nov. 26, and the 58th recipient of the Walter Camp Player of Year award will be announced on the ESPN College Football Awards Show on Thursday, December 12.
