Wrestling Releases 2024-25 Schedule

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Army West Point Wrestling head coach Kevin Ward has announced the program's 2024-25 season schedule.Â
"As always, we try to give our athletes incredible opportunities and experiences, and this season's schedule does that," said Army head coach Kevin Ward. "We get to compete in really unique venues and against teams we don't get to see every year, so I think this schedule will really help our team develop as the season goes on."
The team will open individual competition November 3 at the Princeton Open. Then, on November 8, the Black Knights will compete in their season-opening dual event, the Throwdown on the Yorktown on the deck of the USS Yorktown in Mt. Pleasant, S.C. Army will face The Citadel and Gardner-Webb on the aircraft carrier, with action commencing at 5:00 p.m.

Army will participate in the Journeymen Round Robin November 10 in Bethlehem, Pa. before returning to team action November 17 with a tri-meet at Buffalo vs. Purdue and Buffalo.Â

Next, the program hosts the Black Knight Invitational November 24 at Christl Arena, before a signature dual meet vs. Iowa at Francis Howell High School in St. Charles, Mo. December 6.

On December 13, one day before the Army-Navy football game, the Black Knights will wrestle Morgan State in Baltimore, Md. This will also serve as Army's EIWA dual opener, with Morgan State announced as the conference's newest member this offseason.

After the holiday break, Army returns to action January 4-5 at the Southern Scuffle in Chattanooga, Tenn, and the David Lehman Open in Lancaster, Pa. January 10.Â

The Black Knights return to dual action January 12 at LIU. Army is then back on the road one week later at American January 19.Â

On January 26, the Black Knights have their home dual opener vs. EIWA foe Bucknell.

Army travels to Lehigh February 1, before hosting Navy in the Star Match February 16 at Christl Arena.Â

On February 23, the program will celebrate senior day, as the squad concludes the regular season against Binghamton at Christl Arena.

The EIWA Championships are slated for March 7-8 at Lehigh in Bethlehem, Pa. Qualifying wrestlers will then advance to the NCAA Championships March 20-22, at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pa.

Army returns four NCAA qualifiers from a season ago, in Ethan Berginc (125 lbs), Braden Basile (133 lbs), Gunner Filipowicz (165 lbs) and Lucas Stoddard (285 lbs). 2023-24 senior Ben Pasiuk slotted eighth at the NCAA Championships in the 174 lb class, becoming Army's first All-American since 2008.Â

Army finished in third place at the 2023-24 EIWA Championships, with Ward winning conference Coach of the Year honors. The Black Knights also won the Star over Navy with an 18-17 dual win February 16.Â
