Women's Soccer Drops Heartbreaker to Princeton 4-3

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Army Women's Soccer Team fell in a heartbreaker to Princeton by a score of 4-3 on Saturday night at Myslik Field at Roberts Stadium.
Princeton took an early lead when Pietra Tordin scored in the ninth minute after weaving through the box.
Cami Silvestro quickly knotted things up with a rocket off a free kick just outside the box in the 13th minute of the game. The New Jersey native returned to her home state in style scoring not only her first goal of the year but also the first of her career.
The Tigers managed just one shot on goal in the first half, the Black Knights had two. Army controlled the possession and took a 1-1 score line into the break.
Madison Woodward scored her first career goal to put the Black Knights up 2-1 in the 60th minute off an assist from Silvestro. The ball took a wild deflection off a Tiger defender then off the goalkeeper then went to the back of the net.
Tordin would score her second goal of the night to tie things up at 2-2 just four minutes later. She then made it a hat trick in the 77th minute to go up 3-2. She then scored her fourth goal of the night on a free kick just outside the box.
Jasmine Talley cut the deficit to just one when she scored her second goal of the year in the 89th minute.
That would be the last goal of the game as Army would fall 4-3.
Army will return home to take on Air Force on Thursday Sept. 7 at 7 PM at Malek Stadium.
