WEST POINT, N.Y. – Army West Point men's basketball and first year Lee Anderson Head Coach Kevin Kuwik have announced the 2022-23 non-conference schedule. The 13-game slate features seven home games and a trip to take on Big Ten powerhouse Indiana.
"I know our players are super-excited about the opportunities that this non-conference schedule presents," Kuwik said. "I am extremely proud of the efforts they have made this summer to prepare themselves for this challenge."
The Black Knights will open the season at home against Marist on Nov. 6 at 8:00 p.m. before hitting the road to take on Stonehill three days later.
The Black Knights will head up to Indiana on Nov. 12 to take on the Hoosiers for the first time in program history.
"Obviously, the headliner is the Indiana game, with the opportunity to take Charlie, Matt, and Blake back home to play in front of their families and friends. No state loves basketball more than Indiana, so being able to play in a special venue like Assembly Hall and be a part of a special connection to Coach Knight will be a once-in-a-lifetime memory."
Army returns home for one game against Quinnipiac before heading back out on the road for two games against UAlbany and Binghamton.
The Cadets then have a three game homestand where they will host Central Connecticut State, Maritime, and Le Moyne.
Army will travel to Harvard on Dec. 8 before returning home to take on Stony Brook on Dec. 17. The Black Knights then take a trip to San Antonio to face off with UTSA for the first time ever, then they will come home to round out the non-conference schedule against Merchant Marine on Dec. 30.
"We are also excited to play at Harvard and give our players and their families the special experience of being a part of the Army-Navy football weekend. Finally, I am excited to take America's Team down to San Antonio, a community with a great military presence. I have a feeling that we will attract some new fans down there. All in all, I believe this schedule will position ourselves to put our best foot forward come Patriot League play."
