Women's Rugby Welcomes Class of 2027

WEST POINT, NY - Army West Point women's rugby has welcomed nine Cadet-athletes as part of its incoming plebe class of 2027, as announced by head coach Bill LeClerc.Â
The class draws from six different states, with four coming across the country to West Point from California. The incoming class adds to 30 returners for the Black Knights, who achieved a 6-1 record in the NIRA regular season this past year in 2022 in 15s.
Paige Barta | Corte Madera, Calif. (Redwood)
Played club rugby with the Marin Highlanders...MCAL first team all-league in soccer...MCAL third team all-league in track & field...Graduated as AP Scholar with honors...Class Salutatorian.
Clementine Bondor | New York, NY (Horace Mann)
Played varsity rugby with Horce Mann High while competing with The Rugby Advantage at the club level...2022 North American Invitational 7s U18 champion...also captained cross-country team.
Adelle Cortis | Mill Valley, Calif. (Tamalpais)
Played club rugby with the Pleasanton Cavaliers and Marin Highlanders...North American Invitational 7s Champion...Also competed in field hockey and track & field.

Avery Laird | New Canaan, Conn. (New Canaan)
Outside Center...Played club rugby for Aspetuck Rugby Club and EIRA...USA Rugby EIRA U18 Ireland Tour Selection in 2022...Competed at Tropical 7s and LA 7s with EIRA U18...graduated as AP scholar...Also competed in soccer and track & field.
