Dubrule, Drysdale Receive Prestigious AAA Award

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Army West Point baseball standout Kevin Dubrule and women's soccer captain and first captain Lauren Drysdale were the recipients of the Army Athletic Association (AAA) Award at the 2023 Awards Convocation and Superintendent's Awards for Excellence and Achievement and Distinguished Cadet Awards Ceremony on Thursday, May 25.
The AAA trophy is awarded annually to the male and female cadet-athletes who display the "most valuable service to intercollegiate athletics during a career as a cadet." This year marks the 119th anniversary of the AAA Award, which was first presented to football's Horatio Hackett in 1904.
Senior co-captain Kevin Dubrule was named the 2023 Patriot League Player of the Year as well as Defensive Player of the Year as he is hitting .411 on the season with 9 home runs, 68 RBI, 52 runs and 19 doubles. From March 24 to April 23, Dubrule had a 19-game hitting streak. He also earned First Team All-Patriot League honors for the second consecutive season.
For his career, Dubrule is a .339 hitter, playing in 175 games, and totaling 223 hits, 147 RBI and 131 runs scored.
A four-year starter, Lauren Drysdale was named to the 2023 All-Patriot League First Team. This season Drysdale played in all 20 games, scored three goals with two assists for eight points including a game-winning goal, and was 3-3 on penalty kicks, and saw 1,564 minutes of action. Drysdale was also named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team for her efforts in the classroom. In the contest against American University, Lauren scored the game-winning goal pushing the Black Knights past the Eagles in a 1-0 victory.
Lauren is the First Captain of the Corps of Cadets for the 2022-23 academic year, the highest position in the cadet chain of command. Lauren also served as a co-team captain.
In her four-year career, Drysdale was also named a 2021 Second Team All-Patriot League, 2021 Preseason All-Patriot League, 2020 First Team All-Patriot League, 2019 Third Team All-Patriot League, 2019 Patriot League All-Tournament Team, 2019 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.
She played in 64 career games, logging 4963 minutes, and scoring 30 points and 10 goals.
