Men's Soccer Releases 2023 Schedule

WEST POINT, NY - Army West Point men's soccer and head coach Brian Plotkin have announced the schedule for the upcoming 2023 season. The slate features service academy and power-five matchups coming to Malek Stadium, with the Army-Navy Cup XII remaining at Subaru Park.
"We are very excited about our 2023 schedule. We have a challenging non-conference schedule with games against top opponents that will give us the experience to build on for Patriot League play" - head coach Brian Plotkin.
The Black Knights will open the season at home against Air Force on August 24th, marking the 31st all-time meeting between the programs and first since 2019. Army's first road test will come on August 28th, with one of three eventual trips to Philadelphia for a matchup with La Salle.
Army will return home on September 1st to take on a Big Ten-opponent in Michigan State under the lights at Malek. Army opened the 2022 campaign in East Lansing, battling the Spartans to an eventual 2-1 defeat. The contest kicks off an eventual three-game home stand, with Saint Joseph's (September 8th) and UAlbany (September 11th) making the trip to West Point for non-conference matchups. The Black Knights went on the road in 2022 to defeat UAlbany by a score of 1-0 with 10 men.
Conference play opens up on September 16th with a trip to Bucknell for the Black Knights, before returning home a week later to take on Holy Cross for a Saturday afternoon contest at Malek. A four-game stretch away from home will begin after, culminating with the Army-Navy Cup XII in Philadelphia. Army will first face a trio of Patriot League opponents on the road, featuring Lafayette (Sept. 27), Loyola MD (Sept. 30) and Lehigh (Oct. 7). Army will then look to secure consecutive wins over the Midshipmen on Friday, October 13th, with the Army-Navy Cup XII taking place at Subaru Park, home of the Philadelphia Union. Army is 5-1-2 in its last eight matchups with Navy, and is looking to pick up back-to-back victories in the series for the first time since 2015-16.
Army will return to Malek for the first time in over three weeks on Tuesday, October 17th to host Drexel University before welcoming Colgate on Saturday, October 21st. The Black Knights head back to Philadelphia for the final non-conference contest, taking on Villanova University on October 24th. The regular season will conclude with a pair of Patriot League matchups, playing at American on October 28th before hosting Boston University on November 1st. The Patriot League Tournament will then be held from November 4-11.
