Women’s Tennis Falls to Boston University

WINCHESTER, Mass. – The Army West Point women's tennis team (18-8, 3-2, PL) fell to the Boston University Terriers (13-4, 2-0, PL) Saturday night. Army's Ylan Duong defeated Erica Di Battista in three sets.
How it Happened
The Terriers took the doubles point. Boston's ShellyYaloz and Michelle Kleynerman defeated Elizabeth Gilbert and Julia Kelly 6-3 on court two. On court three, Victoria Carlsten and Emily Zhao bested McKinnley Smith and Anna Loureiro 6-2.
The Terriers continued to dominate the court. In the No. 1 spot, Cooper Jackson faced off against Shelly Yaloz. In a tight match, Yaloz defeated Jackson in two sets (7-6, 6-4). In the second position, Elizabeth Gilbert fell to Michelle Kleynerman 6-0, 6-1.
Throughout the match, Army continued pushback against the Terriers.
Jenna Sabile competed against Victoria Carlsten in the No. 3 spot. Sabile won the first set 6-4. In the second set, Carlsten came back, besting Sabile 6-4, forcing a tiebreakers set. Carlsten defeated Sabile 10-5. In the fourth position, Emma Sy fell to Kaitlin Tan in two sets (6-2, 6-1).
In the No. 5 spot, Ylan Duong faced off against Erica Di Battista. Duong won the first set 7-5. Di Battista began her comeback in the second set. Di Battista defeated Duong 6-2. Duong bested Di Battista in the tiebreakers set, making it 5-1. In the sixth position, Emily Zhao defeated Paige Herremans, winning both sets (6-1, 6-4).
