Armstrong & Kennedy Earn Weekly ECAC Honors

DANBURY, CT - Army West Point gymnastics senior Patrick Armstrong was named ECAC Specialist of the Week while freshman Blaze Kennedy earned ECAC Rookie of the Week, announced today by the league.
The duo helped Army earn a 396.65-392.10 victory over Sprinfield this past weekend on senior day. The 396.65 marked a new season-high team score for the Black Knights, just ahead of the ECAC Championships.Â
Armstrong posted an event win for the Black Knights, with his career-best 13.600 on still rings giving him the win. He went on to lead Army on parallel bars with 13.650, eventually landing in second place in the event.
Kennedy also claimed an event win for Army, taking first place on pommel horse with a career-high 13.600. Kennedy also registered a 13.45 on parallel bars, marking the top score by an ECAC rookie in the event over the weekned.
Army will travel down to Annapolis, Maryland on Saturday, April 1 to compete in the ECAC Championships.
