Maddox Pabellon Selected as CGA Rookie of the Week

WEST POINT, NY – For the second time this season, Army West Point gymnastics freshman Maddox Pabellon earned national recoginition from the College Gymnastics Association (CGA), earning Co-Rookie of the Week.
Pabellon was previously named Co-Specialist of the Week following his performance at the West Point Open.
The Houston, Texas native stood out for the Black Knights at the annual Army-Navy star meet hosted at West Point. He recorded a score of 14.25 on pommel horse to win the event, an event which Pabellon currently ranks fourth in the country in. As part of the standout performance, Pabellon also took home second place in the vault, with a score of 14.30.
Pabellon has now earned two CGA national weekly honors to go along with a pair of ECAC weekly honors as the freshman has been a key contributor to the Black Knights strong start to the season.
Army returns on Saturday, hitting the road for a matchup with Air Force and the University of California from the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado.
