Colorado Springs, Colo. – Army West Point gymnastics received a pair of career-best performances from Zachary Perez and Joseph Buselmeier in a tri-meet hosted by Air Force in the Cadet West Gym on Saturday afternoon.
The host Falcons captured the meet behind a season-best 397.65 followed by California's 388.55 and the Black Knights 382.1.
Perez' career-high 13.45 on high bar tied for first place with the Golden Bears' Noah Newfeld, and Buselmeier's personal best 13.7 on still rings earned him runner-up honors, trailing the winning mark of 14.0 set by double winner Newfeld.
Five Black Knights placed among the leaders in four of the six individual events. Rounding out the rest of that group was Maddox Pabellon, fourth on pommel horse (13.65), while Corban Barstow and Gabe Almeida tied for fourth on floor exercise with 13.05 marks.
Army's season high 63.95 on high bar edged the Bear's 63.5 and the Falcons' 61.1 for top honors in that team event. The Black Knights also recorded a season-high 65.40 on still rings.
