October 21, 2023 | Women's Soccer
WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point women's soccer team (8-6-3, 5-2-1 PL) moved into first place of the Patriot League and clinched a birth in the Patriot League Tournament after a 2-0 win over Colgate.
Army dominated the first half but had nothing to show for it. Despite the 5-0 advantage in shots on goal the score was 0-0 going into the break.
Kaelan Bradley netted a penalty kick in the 49th minute to go up 1-0 after the Colgate keeper fouled Kaitlin Palaian in the box.
It wouldn't be until the 66th minute before Sage Strohman would be called into action to make the a save.
Madison Woodward would be fouled in the box in 89th minute and Bradley scored her second PK of the day to make it a 2-0 ball game.
Bradley is the first Black Knight to score multiple goals in a game since Dara Murray scored a hat trick against Wagner on Sep. 8, 2022.
Sage Strohman continued to do Sage Strohman things. The three-time defending Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week made a solid case to win the award again after earning her seventh clean sheet of the year and her third in the last four games after making three saves on the day. She's allowed one goal or fewer in her last seven games and 10 of the last 11.
That score would hold and the Black Knights would move into first place in the Patriot League after a Lehigh win over Loyola.
