Luke Griner Named Patriot League Track Athlete of the Week

BETHLEHEM, Pa – Army West Point junior Luke Griner has been named Patriot League Track Athlete of the Week, announced today by the league.

Griner won the 800m at the Eagle Invitational, posting a time of 1:49.13. The time set a new academy and program record for Army, breaking the previous mark of 1:49.63 which has stood since 1993.

Griner began the indoor season with a pair of top-two finishes at the Virginia Tech Invitational in the 500m (1st, 1:02.98) and 400m (2nd, 48.13) before the record-breaking performance at the TRACK at New Balance.

The Black Knights will send athletes to both Penn State and Boston University this weekend (Jan. 27-28) ahead of the Star Meet with Navy on February 4.
