WEST POINT, N.Y. – Dara Murray notched her first career hat-trick as the Black Knights ran rampant over the Wagner Seahawks in a 5-0 victory on Thursday night.
Game Summary
After a four-game road trip that included two games in Colorado and two against top-25 teams (No. 11 Auburn, No. 25 Samford) last week, the Black Knights returned home for the first time August 21.
Army wasted little time setting the tone. 28 seconds into the game, Murray was on the other end of a cross but her shot in front of the net went wide. She found the net five minutes later after burying her shot in the net from a cross by Lindsey Smith.
Murray added her second goal 35 seconds later. Kaelan Bradley played a beautifully weighted thru ball in the path of Murray, who took a few touches in the box before ripping her shot near post.
The Black Knights continued to pepper the goal in search for goal number three. Despite finishing with 17 shots, the game remained 2-0 at halftime.
Murray netted her hat-trick to make it 3-0 at the 57th minute. Elise Urkov played a tantalizing ball which found Murray at the back post who slid to tap home the finish.
Army made it 4-0 with Brigid Duffy scored her first career goal with a strong finish inside of the box at the 67th minute. The Black Knights, who also had 17 shots in the second half, scored on their final shot of the game with 33 seconds remaining. Bella Cooke's cross at the by-line was tap home by Maddie Allshouse to cap the scoring at 5-0.

Coach's Corner
"It was a great night at home for us. We created some quality opportunities and had some great finishes. Huge night for Dara (Murray) to get that hat trick, and Brigid Duffy and Maddie Allshouse to get their first career goals. Ultimately, the tone and level we continued to set with getting a lot of players in the match was huge. That is a testament of the training intensity and environment that they are setting and preparing for these moments. A great 'W' and shutout at home and all eyes on BC." – Tracy Chao
