September 12, 2022 | Men's Soccer
BETHLEHEM, PA – Army West Point men's soccer collected three Patriot League weekly awards following its 2-0 week featuring victories over Florida Atlantic and Sacred Heart, as announced by the Patriot League today. Nick Atkinson and Tomas Hut earned their first weekly honors of the season, while Jacob Lee tabbed his second award in three weeks.Â
Junior Nick Atkinson picked up where he left off last week, scoring a header to break the 0-0 tie against Florida Atlantic on Wednesday on his way to earning Defensive Player of the Week. The goal was Atkinson's team-leading second of the season, and the game-winner led to Army picking up its first victory of the season.Â
Sophomore Tomas Hut earned Goalkeeper of the Week honors after allowing zero goals across 114 minutes of action this past week. Hut came on as a substitute against FAU, making a save in 24 minutes of action to help seal the victory before posting a five-save shutout on the road versus Sacred Heart. Â
Plebe Jacob Lee collected his second Rookie of the Week honor this season, after scoring his first collegiate goal for the Black Knights against FAU. Lee collected a pass in the box from Cooper Warren, before slotting home to give Army a two-goal cushion against the Owls.Â
