WEST POINT, N.Y. --- Army West Point Women's Soccer (1-0-1) captured its first victory of the 2022 season, by downing Fairleigh Dickinson (0-2-0) 2-0, on Sunday afternoon.

Game Summary

Army had control of the match from the opening kick. The defensive line was stellar only allowing the Knights three shots in the contest, while Army recorded 14 shots in the first 45 minutes, netting two.

Firstie captain Emma Richey headed in the first goal for the Black Knights, and her first career goal, in the 11^th minute of the contest. Dara Murray tallied the assist after she capitalized on a corner kick and perfectly place the ball for Richey.

Army's offense continued to dominate and soon broke away on another attack. Kaelan Bradley used a change of possession to feed Kaitlin Palaian the ball. Palaian made a quick maneuver on the defender to set herself up for the open shot. She launched the ball over the keeper, scoring her first goal of the season and extending Army's lead to 2-0 over the Knights.

The teams were scoreless in the second half of the contest. The Black Knights rattled off 13 shots compared to FDU's three.

Army recorded 27 shots with eight being on target.
The Cadets held FDU to three shots with one being on goal.
Tayler Stalheim picked up the win in goal recording one save.
