Drysdale, Richey Selected To Patriot League Women’s Soccer Preseason All-League Team

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Seniors Lauren Drysdale and Emma Richey were named to the 2022 Patriot League Preseason All-League Team announced on Thursday.
Drysdale, a three-year starter in midfield, has garnered preseason all-league honors for the second straight season. The Irvine, Calif. native started in all 19 games last season and was third on the team in points (7) en route to earning 2021 All-Patriot League Second Team honors. She has been one of the most consistent players for the Black Knights as she has been named to the All-Patriot League First Team (2020), All-Patriot League Third Team (2019), and Patriot League All-Tournament Team (2019) throughout her career.
Drysdale was selected First Captain of the U.S. Military Academy's Corp of Cadets for the 2022-23 academic year which is the highest position in the cadet chain of command.
Richey had a breakout junior campaign as the Chandler, Ariz. Native started in all 19 games while logging a team-leading 1,774 minutes. She anchored a backline that held opponents to one goal or less in 13 games. Richey was named to the 2021 All-Patriot League Third Team to receive all-league honors for the first time in her career and was selected to the Patriot League All-Tournament team.
The Black Knights were tabbed fifth in the preseason poll after receiving 92 points. The 2021 Black Knights advanced to the Patriot League Semifinals where they fell to No. 1 seed Boston University.
Army West Point kicks off the season by hosting UConn on Thursday, August 18 at 6 p.m.
