Williams Wins 2021-22 Rudy Scholz Award

WEST POINT, N.Y. --- Larry Williams Jr. has been awarded the 2021-22 Rudy Scholz Award after his stellar season for the Army West Point Men's Rugby team, as announced by the committee on Thursday afternoon.
The junior prop was one of four players to be nominated for the award and was chosen by a panel of judges to win the award. The Rudy Scholz Award is named after two-time Olympic Gold Medalist Rudy Scholz, who played for the USA team in the 1920 and 1924 Olympics. He served, with distinction, in both World War I and World War II. The Scholz family has been enormously support of the efforts of the Washington Athletic Club to present this award.
Williams played a key role in the Black Knights' success in the 15's season helping the team compile a record of 14-1 and bring home the programs first-ever D1A Men's Rugby National Championship title after he and the Black Knights defeated Saint Mary's 20-8.
Williams will receive the award on June 11, 2022, at the Washington Athletic Club gala event in Seattle, Wash.
