Men’s Tennis Places Three On All-Patriot League Teams

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Army West Point men's tennis team had three Black Knights named to All-Patriot League teams announced on Thursday. Senior Diego Huttepain and junior A.J. Woodman were tabbed to the All-Patriot League First Team, while junior Samuel Eden was named to the All-Patriot League Second Team.
Huttepain, Army's No. 1 singles player, won 10 singles matches in the spring which was tied for the team lead. In doubles, Huttepain collected 16 wins in doubles to share team-high honors with A.J. Woodman. The Los Angeles, Calif. native and his doubles partner Samuel Eden were a team-best 13-5 including going 7-1 in the one spot and having a 4-1 record in conference play. Huttepain has made an all-league team in each year it has been awarded. He was named to the second team as a freshman in 2019 and to the first team last season.
Woodman, a native of Weldon Springs, Mo., played most of the season in the two slot for the Black Knights where he won four of his six singles this spring. Woodman's 16 wins in doubles were tied for the most on the team. Nine of those wins came in the one spot while going 5-0 in two doubles and 2-0 in three doubles.
Eden has been named to the Second Team All-Patriot League for the second consecutive season. The Mountain Lakes, N.J. native, won seven singles matches including going 3-0 in conference play. He finished the season on a four-match win streak in singles. He and doubles partner Huttepain were a team-best 13-5 including going 7-1 in the one spot and having a 4-1 record in conference play.
The 2021-22 Black Knights won 18 matches in the spring, including win streaks of six and eight matches. Army advanced to the Patriot League Final for the eighth straight season.
