Macias Lands on All-Academic Team

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Army West Point Baseball was featured on the Patriot League All-Academic Team, which was released on Thursday afternoon, as outfielder Carter Macias received a selection.

Macias was one of 12 players to earn a spot on the squad, becoming the ninth Black Knight to achieve the feat since 2018. This is the first postseason accolade for the senior, who is a three-time Patriot League Academic Honor Roll student.

An engineering management major, Macias owns a 3.73 cumulative GPA. Last semester, he received the prestigious Hal Moore Warrior Athlete Award, which is given out annually by the Department of Physical Education (DPE) in recognition of achievement and dedication to physical development. It was noted when the award, which is given to one male and one female, was presented that Macias is known within DPE for his excellence in boxing and combatives.

In addition to his stellar performances in the classroom, Macias has been a mainstay in Army's lineup this season. Having started all 47 games that he has played in, he is slashing .283/.325/.409 with four doubles, one home run and 12 RBI. Macias has stolen 19 bases and is credited with 15 multi-hit games. From his primary position out in right field, he has also chipped in three assists and owns a perfect fielding percentage.
