Gibson, Fink Earn Patriot League Weekly Honors

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Army West Point men's and women's outdoor track and field each had a member receive Patriot League weekly honors announced on Tuesday. Senior Jamir Gibson was named the men's field athlete of the week and freshman Emily Fink was tabbed as the women's rookie of the week.
Gibson set a personal record in the shot put at the Larry Ellis Invitational hosted by Princeton University. His throw of 18.62 meters is the best distance in the conference and ranks 33rd in the nation. Gibson placed third in the discus throw with a 56.71m distance.
Fink earned her third rookie of the week award of the outdoor season. She set the program's shot put record with a 15.75m toss at the Larry Ellis Invitational en route to winning the event. Fink also placed third in the hammer throw (56.96m).
Army will compete at the Virginia Challenge hosted by the University of Virginia on April 22-23.
