Williams named Finalist for Rudy Scholz Award

WEST POINT, N.Y. --- Larry Williams Jr. of Army West Point Men's Rugby has been named a finalist for the 2021-22 Rudy Scholz Award, by the committee on Monday afternoon.
The junior prop is one of four players to be nominated for the award. The Rudy Scholz Award is named after two-time Olympic Gold Medalist Rudy Scholz, who played for the USA team in the 1920 and 1924 Olympics. He served, with distinction, in both World War I and World War II. The Scholz family has been enormously support of the efforts of the Washington Athletic Club to present this award.
Williams has played a key role in the Black Knights' success in the 15's season helping the team compile a record of 13-1 and secure the top seed in the East Division. Williams and the Black Knights are preparing for the D1A Semifinals on Friday, April 22, at 7 p.m. against Lindenwood.
The Rudy Scholz Award and the MA Sornesen Award are given to the best men's and women's college rugby players in the country will be announced on June 11, 2022, at the Washington Athletic Club gala event in Seattle, Wash.
