Diving Wraps up Action at NCAA Zone A Championship

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Army West Point swimming & diving team was well-represented at the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships, as four different Cadets finished competition on Tuesday afternoon.
Minh Donnell, Daniel Alaimo, David Manelis and Isaac Newman participated in both the 1- and 3-meter dives over the course of two days on the campus of the United States Naval Academy, competing against the top competition in the northeast region.
Manelis highlighted the action for the Black Knights, finishing eighth overall in the 1-meter event with a combined score of 642.30. After placing ninth in the prelim, he became the only Army diver to advance to a final at this year's event.
On the women's side, Donnell narrowly missed out on advancing to the final on the 1-meter board, as her score of 250.75 was less than six points off of placing in the top 18.
In order to qualify for the NCAA Championship, competitors within Zone A must place within the top five on the women's side and the top four on the men's side.
