Dubrule Receives Patriot League Player of the Week Honors
March 15, 2022 | Baseball
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Army West Point Baseball's junior captain Kevin Dubrule was named Patriot League Player of the Week in an announcement put out by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon.
Â
The honor is the first of the season for the Black Knights (3-11), who recently took on No. 21 TCU in a weekend series.
Â
Dubrule, one of just three players to have started all 14 of the team's games, had his strongest performance of the year during last week's Texas trip, where the Cadets faced off against UT Arlington in a midweek series in addition to their games against the Horned Frogs.
Â
Over the five-game stretch, the Florida native batted .550 (11-for-20) to go along with one double, one triple, three RBI and four runs scored. Additionally, he chipped in a stolen base while contributing 19 assists from shortstop. Through the start of the season, he leads the team in multi-hit games (four) and is currently on an 11-game streak of reaching base safely.
                                                                                                                 Â
In addition to Dubrule's accolade, right-handed pitcher Robbie Buecker received an honorable mention from the Patriot League. The junior pitched a quality start in the second game against TCU, allowing just one run while scattering four hits and fanning four batters through 6.0 innings on the mound.
