EIWA Announces Pre-Seeds for Upcoming Championship

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Ten members of the Army West Point wrestling team received their seeds for the EIWA Championships in an announcement put out by the league office on Tuesday afternoon.
The release comes less than five days out from the conference championship, which is set to run from Saturday, March 5 through Sunday, March 6 at Cornell's Newman Arena at Bartels Hall.
Of the 10 Black Knights that received a seed, P.J. Ogunsanya led the way, as he was awarded the fourth-place slot at 149. The senior captain is one of three Cadets to receive a top-five seed, joined by Markus Hartman (157, fifth) and J.T. Brown (197, fifth).
Sitting just outside of the top five is Thomas Deck (141), Ben Pasiuk (174) and Brad Laughlin (184), who are all slotted sixth in their weights.
Both Dalton Harkins (164) and Kade Carlson (HWT) will make be making their postseason debuts for the Black Knights. Harkins wrestled to a 23-8 record as a true freshman and will compete as a ninth seed, while Carlson is set to wrestle as the No. 7 seed.
Joining the aforementioned Cadets are Richard Treanor (11th, 133) and Ryan Chauvin (15th, 125).
Ogunsanya and Pasiuk will return to this year's championship as the reigning winners of their weight classes. In total, Army racked up nine top-eight finishes at least year's postseason meet, with five Cadets wrestling their way into the top three.
