Rucker Named To Patriot League Preseason All-League Team

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Junior co-captain Jalen Rucker has been selected to the 2022-23 Patriot League Preseason All-League Team announced on Wednesday.
Rucker turned into one of the most prolific sharpshooters in the league during his sophomore campaign last season. At the conclusion of the regular season, the Baltimore native led the conference in 3-pointers made, 3-pointers per game and 3-point field goal percentage.
Rucker led Army and was fourth in the conference in scoring with a career-high 17.1 points per game. He ended the season scoring in double figures in 15 straight games, including tying a career-high with a game-high 29 points against Colgate on February 16. He had 11 20-point games which were third-most in the league and his 12 made field goals at Lehigh in the Patriot League Quarterfinals were the most by a Black Knight last season.
He set his career-high in scoring with 29 points in the win over Hartford at Cameron Indoor Stadium in Durham, N.C. where he made eight 3-pointers which are tied for the second most in program history. His 84 3-pointers are the sixth most in a season in program history.
Rucker, who was named to the Patriot League All-Rookie Team as a freshman, was named to the 2022 All-Patriot League Second Team.
The Black Knights were picked fifth in the preseason poll after receiving 92 points. Defending champion Colgate was tabbed as the league's favorite.
Army West Point opens the season hosting Keystone College on Monday, November 7 at 7 p.m. and begins league play versus Lehigh in Christl Arena on Friday, December 30 at 6 p.m.
