January 06, 2022 | Wrestling
WEST POINT, N.Y. – Head Army West Point Wrestling Coach Kevin Ward announced that the team has added a dual at No. 21 Pittsburgh to its upcoming schedule, as the programs will compete on Sunday, Jan. 9 at the Panthers' Fitzgerald Field House.
The action is slated for a Noon start and will mark the 20th meeting in the history between the two sides, which began in 1950-51. Pitt enters the clash with a 10-9 all-time advantage in the series, though the Cadets have won the past seven tilts.
Fans are required to purchase tickets to attend the match in-person. For those unable to make the trip, the match will be streamed on the ACC Network Extra via the ESPN app.
Following the cancellation of the 2021 Midlands Championships due to COVID-related issues, the Black Knights were looking to add an additional competition to their slate. The Panthers are the fourth ranked squad that the Cadets will have taken the mat against this year, joining No. 1 Iowa, No. 2 Penn State and No. 12 Rutgers.
