Daniel Haider Named AHA Player of the Week

WINTHROP, Mass. - After a career weekend against Air Force, Daniel Haider has been named the Atlantic Hockey Association's Player of the Week. Haider scored three goals and notched his first career hat-trick in Army's historic 8-3 beatdown of Air Force in the first game of the series. The Alaskan followed up with an assist on the gam-tying goal in the second game against the Falcons to finish with four points in the series. This is the Alaskan's first Atlantic Hockey honor of the season.
Haider has been a spark in Army's offense, totaling six goals, 10 assists and 16 points so far the 2021-22 campaign. The senior alternate captain now ranks tied for third on goals (6), fifth in assists (10) and second in points (16). His +6 rating is also good for best on the team.Â
"Haids" was a force to be reckoned with over the weekend. In his first game back from injury, Haider scored two powerplay goals to help Army come-from-behind to take the lead and then put the nail in the coffin with the hat-trick goal in the third period.Â

Haider and the Black Knights are preparing to take on the Mercyhurst Lakers this weekend. The Cadets wil be back on their home ice for another critical Atlatnic Hockey series on Friday and Saturday Feb. 4-5.Â
