Army Tops Springfield On The Road

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. --- Army West Point Men's Gymnastics picked up its first win over the season dominating Springfield 384.850-378.900 on Sunday afternoon.

Amy opened the meet by edging out Springfield on the floor exercise 64.900-64.750 to grab the early lead in the dual meet. Mathew Davis claimed the top in the event with a 13.700 while Kalvin Kingshill tied for fourth place with a score of 13.100.

Gabe Almeida was the leader on pommel horse for the Black Knights with a score of 13.250 to claim first place in the event. Zachary Mitchell tied for third with a score of 12.600 while Davis followed in fifth with 12.050. Army won the event 61.500-57.000 to lead 126.400-121.750 over Springfield.

The Pride took advantage on the rings winning 64.850-64.00 over Army. The Cadets were led by Davis in first place with a score of 13.800. Declan Henriques claimed third with a score of 13.200.

Jacob Nauman led the way for Army on vault nabbing third place with a score of 14.150. Connor Cavanagh followed in fourth with a score of 14.050. Steve Manolakis rounded out the top-five with a score of 13.950. Springfield won the event 69.750-69-350 over Army.

The Black Knights bounced back on parallel bars edging out the Pride 62.250-60.850 on the event. Zachary Mitchell led the way with a score of 13.300 to secure the top spot for Army. Patrick Armstrong followed with a score of 12.700 while Joseph Buselmeier recorded a 12.600.

Army won the final event of the day, high bar, 62.850-61.700 to secure the dual meet victory over Springfield. Mitchell led the way with a score of 13.100 to claim second place. Kingshill took third with 12.850, followed by Zachary Perez in fourth with 12.800, and Buselmeier in fifth with a score of 12.600.
