Gibson, Mikoud, Fink Earned Patriot League Weekly Honors

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – For the second time this season, Jamir Gibson, Emily Mikoud and Emily Fink all won Patriot League Indoor Track and Field honors. Gibson was named men's indoor field athlete of the week, Mikoud was selected as women's indoor field athlete, and Fink was tabbed as women's rookie of the week from their performances at the Virginia Tech Invitational on January 14-15.
Gibson continued his record-breaking start to the season at the Virginia Tech Invitational. Gibson broke a 49-year-old service academy record in the weight throw (20.79) to place second in the event on January 14. He followed with an 18.65m in the shot put to win the event on January 15.
Mikoud also set an Army and service academy record in the weight throw (21.71) which is the fourth best mark in the NCAA this season in the weight throw.
Fink set a season-high mark by a Black Knight in the shot put (15.81m) for a second-place finish. She was ninth in the weight throw (16.90m)
The Black Knights will head to University Park, Pa. to compete at the Penn State National Open on January 21-22.
