Black Knights Sweep ECAC Awards

DANBURY, Conn. --- Army West Point Men's Gymnastics swept the first Eastern College Athletic Conference weekly awards of the 2022 season, as announced by the conference on Tuesday afternoon.

Mathew Davis, Zachary Perez, and Patrick Armstrong collected the weekly awards for the Black Knights to open the 2022 season.

Davis earned Gymnast of the Week after his strong performance against Penn State. The firstie claimed first place on the still rings with a score of 13.700 while finishing second on vault with a 14.100. Davis competed in the all-around for the Black Knights scoring 73.450 in his first meet of the season.

Perez earned ECAC Rookie of the Week after making a strong debut on the horizontal bar for Army in the dual meet with Penn State. The plebe recorded a score of 12.150 to earned third place in the event.

Armstrong was tabbed ECAC Specialist of the Week performing well on the still rings and parallel bars for Army. On the rings the junior recorded a score of 12.700. Armstrong led the Black Knights on parallel bars with a score of 12.250 to place second in the event.
