The Varsity Network App To Carry Free Army Sports Network Broadcasts

WEST POINT, N.Y. - Supporters of Army West Point Athletics can now listen to all games and events covered by the Army Sports Network on the recently launched app called The Varsity Network. Â
Fans can download the app for iPhone or Android use for instant access to free gameday audio streams and receive push notifications to remind them of games starting or upcoming audio broadcasts.Â
The Varsity Network app was developed by SIDEARM Sports, a LEARFIELD company and the nation's leading digital provider powering more than 1,400 official college athletic websites and mobile apps.Â
All Army Sports Network game calls, as well as "This Week in Army Football", the "Army Football Tailgate Show", pregame and postgame shows can be heard on the free app available on mobile devices. The season premiere of "This Week in Army Football" airs on Thursday, September 2 at 7 p.m. The "Army Football Tailgate Show" starts at 9 a.m. on Saturday, September 4 followed by the pregame show at 11:30 a.m. leading up to the season opener against Georgia State at 12 p.m.Â
In his 18th year with the Army West Point Athletic Association, Rich DeMarco – an Associate Athletic Director – enters his 12th season calling football play-by-play. He has hosted "This Week in Army Football" since 2004. Joining him in the booth is veteran color analyst Dean Darling who fans have listened to across the Army Sports Network for more than 40 years. Â
Tony Morino will handle the sideline reporting duties for the 12th straight season, while Joe Beckerle returns for his tenth season as program host. John Minko, Army's play-by-play voice from 2000-09, will host the "Army Football Tailgate Show" from Black Knights Alley prior to home games. On-site engineer Danny Ginsberg is in his ninth year with the Army Sports Network.Â
