Women’s Soccer Welcomes 12 Freshmen

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Army West Point head women's soccer coach Tracy Chao has announced the addition of 12 freshmen to the 2021 team, which is set to open its season this week in San Diego.
The group is made up of six defenders, two midfielders, two forwards and two goalkeepers and features players from as far away as California and as close as New York.
"We inherited a really solid class of players and even more amazing people that have chosen to not only be a part of our women's soccer program but the prestigious Army West Point to ultimately become extraordinary leaders and serve our great country," Chao said. "Nevertheless, this class brings a lot of depth in different areas of the field, and it has been fun these last few weeks getting to see them on the field and identifying their abilities. They are certainly going to be impactful for us this season as they join a tremendous group of returning players."
Kaelan Bradley | M | 5-6 | Williston Park, N.Y. | Sacred Heart Academy

Macy Detty | D | 5-8 | Greenwood, Ind. | Center Grove HS
Chao's thoughts: "Macy gives us versatility within multiple lines on the field with her strength, athleticism and ability to work defensively and transition to creating in our attack."
Abby Doyle | M | 5-9 | Reading, Pa.| Wyomissing HS
Chao's thoughts: "Abby will add great composure to our midfield as well and is an extremely intelligent player that has such a great vision and understanding on spacing and the game."
Grace Edvalds | F | 5-9 | Tacoma, Wash. | Bellarmine Preparatory School
Chao's thoughts: "Grace adds to our attack with an unbelievable work rate, on and off the ball, and has the ability, confidence and fearlessness to run at the opponent."
Lucy McDaniels | GK | 5-10 | Chapel Hill, N.C. | Carrboro HS
Chao's thoughts: "Lucy carries a strong presence and technical ability between the posts and uses assertive communication to add to our goalkeeper unit."
Elizabeth Oberhaus | D | 5-4 | Wadsworth, Ohio | Highland HS
Chao's thoughts: "Biz brings energy and a spark to our backline. She has a tremendous work rate and intensity and will impact all four moments of the game."
Hannah Pohlidal | D | 5-10 | Edina, Minn. | Breck School
Chao's thoughts: "Hannah provides us with added depth in our backline with simplicity in technical ability to connect and great work and energy in her defense."
Andrea Riddle | D | 5-3 | Atlanta, Ga. | Johns Creek HS
Chao's thoughts: "Andrea is a tenacious player that has good vision of the game, which provides us with more strength on our flanks."
Sage Strohman | GK | 5-7 | La Mirada, Calif. | La Mirada HS
