Baseball Sweeps Sunday DH, Takes Series over Holy Cross

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Black Knights finished off the series at Holy Cross with a Sunday sweep, winning game three, 6-2 and game four, 8-1 on Sunday afternoon.
The Black Knights (20-18, 14-8 PL) jumped out to a big 6-0 lead through the third inning of game three. Holy Cross added one in the fourth and one in the fifth but that was all.
Nick Manesis led the way with two hits and one RBI, he also scored two runs. Anthony Giachin, Andre Walden, Tim Simoes and Jermiah Adams also drove in runs on the day.
On the bump, Bartoli was impressive, tossing 4.2 innings, scattering two runs on five hits with three walks and six strikeouts. He earned the win, improving to 1-1 on the year.
Tyler Pritchard pitched a flawless inning, followed by Teddy Lepcio who put up a zero in 1.1 innings of work.
The Black Knights dominated completely in game four, much in the similar fashion to game one, pushing their lead to 7-0 in the eighth inning.
The lone run for the Crusader was a Dellacono solo homer in the bottom of the eighth, 8-1. The run was unearned after an error prolonged the inning.
Overall the Black Knights dominated with 13 hits to just five for the Crusaders. The Black Knights were also helped by four errors by the Crusaders' defense.
Starter Connley Early tossed 5.0 scoreless innings, scattering two hits, no walks and six strikeouts to earn the win after taking the tough luck loss in game one. Brian Dawson pitched 2.2 innings and only gave up one unearned run on three hits with two Ks. Tanner Gresham finished things off with 1.1 scoreless.
Offensively, Tim Simoes led the way with three hits and two RBI, while Cam Cerruto had two hits and two RBI..

The Black Knights are set to host Sacred Heart on Tuesday, May 4 at 3 p.m. ET.
