Army to Take on Navy in Patriot League Challenge Meet
April 07, 2021 | Men's Swimming and Diving, Women's Swimming and Diving
WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Patriot League has announced the cancellation of the 2021 Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Championships, originally scheduled to be hosted by Bucknell University from Wednesday, April 21, through Saturday, April 24.
Â
Instead, Patriot League men's and women's swimming and diving programs will compete during separate Patriot League Challenge meets at four different sites. Army West Point will host Navy, and Lafayette welcomes Lehigh in a pair of League dual meets. Colgate hosts Boston University and Holy Cross, and American and Loyola Maryland travel to Bucknell in two League tri-meets.
Â
The Army-Navy Patriot League Challenge meet is slated for Saturday, April 17 at Crandall Pool. Diving will begin at 11 a.m. and the swimming portion will commence at 2 p.m. The meet will also double as the Star Meet, part of the Star Series presented by USAA.
Â
Patriot League contests and meets continue to be contingent on the League and its member institutions being able to conduct competition in ways that protect the health and safety of student-athletes, coaches, staff and their communities.
Â
ABOUT THE PATRIOT LEAGUE
The Patriot League is in its fourth decade of academic and athletic achievement, continually demonstrating that student-athletes can excel at both academics and athletics without sacrificing high standards. The Patriot League's athletic success is achieved while its member institutions remain committed to its founding principle of admitting and graduating student-athletes that are academically representative of their class. Participation in athletics at Patriot League institutions is viewed as an important component of a well-rounded education.
