Black Knights Split Day Two of Doubleheader at Bucknell

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Black Knights split a double header on Sunday afternoon at Bucknell, falling in game one, 7-1, but took game two, 14-3 at Depew Field
The Black Knights (4-11) blasted a season-high 14 runs on 16 hits, taking advantage of five Bucknell (4-6) errors on the day.
Eight of nine in the batting lineup for the Black Knights tallied at least one hit in game two on the day and six had multi-hit outings.
Kevin Dubrule led the way with a career and team-high five RBI in game two alone, while Tim Simoes and Nick Manesis each added three. Manesis' three RBI came one one swing of the bat, a three-run homer in the third inning, giving the Black Knights a 5-1 lead at the time.
After a scoreless first inning, Army added two in the second, four in the third, three in the fifth, three in the seventh and two in the eighth.
The Black Knights had five extra base hits and took advantage of six walks on the day along with Bucknell's five errors.
The starter in game two on the day was Robbie Buecker, who earned the win to improve to 1-2 on the year, going 6.0 complete, allowing three runs on six hits with two walks and five strikeouts. Sean Dennehy went 1.1 and Harry Flannery 1.2 innings to close things out on the bump.
In game one of the day vs. Bucknell, the Black Knights were in an early hole, down 7-0 after four runs crossed in the first and three in the second.
The Black Knights got on the board in the third inning, as designated hitter Ruta singled home Jeremiah Adams, but that was all the Black Knights would get in the game, falling 7-1.
The Black Knights had five hits to Bucknell's six on the day.
Starter Trevor Finan took the loss, falling to 1-2 on the year as he gave up six runs (all earned) in 1.1 innings of work, allowing four hits but walking four more.
Tanner Gresham went the next 3.2 innings, giving up just one on two hits with one walk and a team-high three strikeouts.
Joel Rubin and Brian Dawson also got in the game on the mound in game one.
