Black Knights Sweep ECAC Awards

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point Gymnastics team had a clean sweep of the ECAC weekly awards, it was announced on Tuesday. Mathew Davis was tabbed the gymnast of the week, Matthew Martin was the specialist of the week and Connor Cavanagh was the rookie of the week.

Davis was the winner in the still rings, posting a one-point improvement from his mark a week earlier with a score of 13.5. His performance was .85 higher than Cal's Noah Newfield, who placed second. The junior from Frisco, Texas, also posted a score of 14.05 in the vault to place second.

Martin had a season-high score of 13.5 in the pommel horse, which was .3 points higher than the second-place finisher.

Cavanagh set a career high for the second consecutive meet in the still rings, posting a score of 12.25.
