Three Black Knights Earn Patriot League Track and Field Weekly Honors

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Army Black Knights men's and women's indoor track and field programs had three members picked up weekly awards from the Patriot League announced on Tuesday. Jamir Gibson was named men's indoor field athlete of the week, Emily Mikoud was tabbed women's indoor field athlete of the week, and Emily Fink was selected as women's rookie of the week.
The trio headline Army's performance in the season-opening Crowell Open on December 4 where several Black Knights won individual and team events.
Gibson won both the shot put (18.35m) and weight throw (20.04) – both are personal records. Mikoud set the meet, facility, program, and service academy record in the weight throw (20.71m). She accomplished this feat on her first attempt. Fink finished first in the shot put (15.58m) in her first collegiate event. The distance only trails program record holder Emily Mikoud.
The Black Knights are next in action at the West Point Open on Saturday, January 8.
