Oscar Pereira Lands on United Soccer Coaches All-Region Team

WEST POINT, N.Y. - Oscar Pereira earned added another accolade to his already crowded trophy case today, as he was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Atlantic Region Second Team this afternoon. The senior forward finished the season with seven goals and 20 points to lead the team. His efforts helped the team finish the season with a 7-7-2 season and a run to the Patriot League Semifinals. The Hastings-on-Hudson native finished his collegiate career at West Point with 13 goals and 11 assists to total 37 points in his time with the Army West Point men's soccer team.
Pereira was one of only eight Patriot Leaguers named to the teams and was highlighted as one of the best 33 players in the Atlantic Region with the nomination.
"I am extremely blessed to be receiving recognition once again, but I couldn't have achieved half of this without the help from my teammates, staff, and family." said Pereira. "I'm very grateful for the opportunity I was given to play with such an amazing group of guys for the past four years. "
Pereira, a senior environmental science major at the United States Military Academy, is set to graduate in the spring. Following graduation, he will begin his service in the Field Artillery branch as a second Lieutenant in the United States Army.
