Two Cadets Invited to USA Rugby Winter Camp

CHULA VISTA, Calif. --- Emma Gamboa and Sophia Linder of Army West Point Women's Rugby received invitations to the U.S. Olympic Training Site in California for Winter Camp 2021 from Dec. 27 to Jan. 1, as announced by USA Rugby.
The two Black Knights will compete for a spot on the U20 National Team after ending their 2021 season in the NIRA Championship match. This year's team will be coached by Joel Bonnaud, head coach of the USA South Women's Panthers, and assisted by Farrah Douglas, current head coach of Mount St. Mary's University.
Winter Camp has invited some of the best U18 and U20 female athletes in the nation to compete and train under the guidance of a junior national team staff with senior national team coaches watching and reviewing performances for the new year. With both the USA Women's 7s and Women's XVs National Teams entering their respective World Cup years, players at Winter Camp have an exciting opportunity to position themselves for a spot in either or both player pools.
